When It All Started To Go Wrong...

IMHO and with some hindsight admittedly...

But it all started to go tits up when we were promoted.

Would we be where we are now if we hadn't gone up and had some "consistant" finishes of between 8th-12th then and since?

Arguments for and against that could go on for page after page, but, with that "cold light of day" thing now going on for me, it makes some sense.

A Leeds supporting friend of mine told me that it all went wrong, all started to go down that slippery slope the day they signed Rio Ferdinand (overspend, set expectations that would never be constantly realised for club, players, supporters)-way before it was obvious things were going to go as they did then, but, similar to us, looking back, it sort of makes sense.

We went up and "prepared" for the Premiership with Simon Charlton, an unfit and played out of position Thomas Helveg and that "little old Norwich"mentality that has stuck, resolute and ever more permanent, to the club ever since.

I suspect that, come next season in Division Three if and when it happens, "little old Norwich" might find that their biggest obstacle is that a lot of the clubs down there will regard "bloody big Norwich" as one of their games of the season and throw everything they can at us-and we'll struggle.

But, whatever, bring it on...
