Yeah, lovely place, but it just feels so peripheral to the rest of the world

a bit like here really. It sounds a little contrived, but when I'm back in Europe it feels like you're part of important stuff happening.

If I were in the UK now, other than southern Europe, I think I'd consider moving to Canada, which is pretty damned nice and still reasonably close.

I still think the UK is a great place, mainly because of the large numbers of interesting and nice people, but it's steadily getting worse.

If you ever did emigrate though, there's no reason why you couldn't move back. Definitely something to be considered
