I normally treat this sort of myarseyourfacebook campaign with the same level of comtempt that I reserve for online-petitions (i.e. they aren't even worth the paper they're not written on).

But my cousin is one of the journalists that the 54 to be made redundant will be picked from, so I've a familial sympathy, and I wouldn't feel right if I didn't at least make the gesture of support.

It'll make f**k-all difference though. The management of Archant are renowned c**ts, who absolutely resolutely will not listen to this sort of campaign, they'll laugh at it, and do whatever they were going to do anyway. They've demonstrated over and again that they have absolutely no desire to look after the welfare of their staff (my brother also works for Archant, but not in an editorial capacity like the journalists who are getting The Treatment this time round), and they couldn't care less if they cheese off anyone in the local area.
