Archant to axe 54 journalists

As we speak, Archant has its journalists holed up in the Gunn Club at Carrow Road. An appropriately named venue to fire 54 journalists...

That is about one third of the editorial staff of Archant Norfolk.

There will be a single news team.

Sales of the Evening News are down 8% on last year. Sales of the Ipswich Evening Star are down 11%, however.

Just like football, newspapers are dead.
