I presume Doncaster's comments about the playing budget have been mentioned below
but I couldn't see anything obvious.
He claims our playing budget is double what it should be, this being with one of the smaller squads in the league and no really high earners.
I suspect I'm right in saying that Doc is one of the highest paid at 8k a week I believe.
Just how the f**k do Bristol City et al have so much better and larger squads, on presumably, a third of what we pay in accordance with their lower gate income?
Is he really preparing us for third division football, with 3rd division wages etc? I'm beginning to suspect that some at the club will be secretly pleased if we do go down.
Not to mention the steadfast refusal to mention a contingency plan if we do go down. Obviously there isn't one. Will wages be reduced on relegation as they were when we went down from the Prem? Possibly not. If we stay in the 3rd div for more than a season or two this could really lead to meltdown. It might take 10 years to come back from it
