I don't usually like
the 'Stan' stuff on Waghorn's site but the latest thing about his little son's attitude strikes a chord.
When I was a little kid my unquestioning worship of City players didn't get affected by the results - if they were playing for City they were heroes. Even losing 5-1 at Wolves in the FA cup in January 1971, or 5-0 at Villa Park in the second replay against Leeds in 1973 didn't dim my loyalty.
I really wish I could feel that way now. I'll never stop going and I'll never stop wanting City to do well but I wish I could stop looking at players and thinking 'You overpaid, lazy sod. Why don't you care as much as I do?. I never thought that about Geoff Butler, Clive Payne, David Cross or Graham Paddon.
