Swann might have been a better call, except if he'd got out before the close

Then he would have been an awful call.

Anderson is the nightwatchman, he knows the job. Swann doesn't.
You try and change the plan at short notice its liable to go horribly wrong.
Declaration could have been earlier, but the size of taht lead meant the windies knew they had no chance. It also allowed England to attack and almost disregard the runs conceeded.
Tough call to make.
I think everyone thought that pitch would break up more on day 5 than it did, and have more in it for Swann than it did.
