What exactly would relegation mean?

I have to admit; up until last weekend I was very ignorant about the threat of relegation; I still thought we were good enough to not worry. However, the last two games have seriously made me think we are favourites for relegation...even Charlton and Southampton seem to pull a result at times!

I am thinking about what relegation to the THIRD TIER will mean for NCFC. I mean, there will be huge embarassment and huge goading from those down the road to start with. Also, I fear that the club could fade into obscurity (like a Swindon, Oldham etc.) We can't afford for this to happen, and I fear with crippling debts and the ignorance of the board to accept new investment, we could go this way.

However, we could look at Leicester last year and teams like Man City etc before them. Yes, they were in a better financial position but with careful management and bringing through some youth players, you can get back to where you should be. If we went down, we would have to do away with the stupid loan system (in such regularity) and bring through some of our youngsters. The likes of Smith, Adayemi, Daley etc could prove themselves at a lower level. It would actually feel like OUR football club again.

One of my main issues in the last two years is it not feeling like NORWICH CITY FOOTBALL CLUB, like it did in the past with alot of youth players or at least legends who have stayed at the club a while. I mean, I was looking through the programme notes against Bristol City and Ryan Bertrand is the 8th highest appearance maker in the current squad and he is a LOANEE! (and that includes Cureton and Russell who are in 2nd spells) It doesn't bode well.

I would hate, hate, hate going down and being an obsre League One club. It would be horrible. But whether we stay up or go down I want OUR football club back, with OUR players who have been developed by US.
