Thoughts on yesterday
We were pretty woeful 1st half, much better effort 2nd with 10 men.
However it's not the end of the world result. They are a team who are on a good run and are not one of our relegation rivals. Along with Swansea, they were probably the best team to play at CR thiis season. BC are a very good team and will probably be in the play offs this season.
Yesterday's result may be a bit of a Plymouth away game for Gunny and open his eyes to players not good enough for the 1st team.
The criticism of Marshall on earlier threads is unfair. Marshy has won us moe points this season than he's lost us. Yes he has major impovements to make in certain areas but is a good keeper. His kicking was poor but he also made a couple of decent throws fo counter attacks and some good saves.
Doc has been sent off for last man challenges far too many times but considoring his form this season he deserves a pardon.
Cureton is not good enough, we know that, he knows that and i think now Gunny should too. I'm still willing to give him a chance as a super sub, where we've seen him nick a goal from previously.
Grounds hot and cold at cb, got another ghoul but is not his natural position and at times makes my heart beat faster and not in a good way. Would like to see him at LB.
Drury is not good enough anymore, and we can't afford to give him 10 games to see if he still has it. Grounds or Plastic for me as our 2 LB's.
Semi frustrates me more than any player, on his day the best rb in the champ, shame his day is a Thursday.
Rusty wasn't the worst player on the pitch as some are saying below. But wasn't at his best.
Wes was ok and still looks our most dangeous player, tried his best but not effective enough, probably sums up Crofty too, although his crossing was woeful yesterday.
Cort was mom by a distance, very effective in an Emile Heskey kind of way, which isn't a bad thing. Won headers, held the ball up, nice touches, exactly what we needed. Will reserve judgement on whether he and Killen can play together, until I see it, which I hope we get the opportunity to against Preston.
Get Drury, Semi and Curo out the team against Preston and we will do ok.
KTF with Gunny and co and let the new coaches sort out our defence. If we play the rest of the season with the back 4 that started yesterday in the postions they played in we will probably get relegated, sort it out, just marginally and we will be ok.
