My point was exactly that some gambles come off. So listing successes hardly disproves it.
Issue is that one more bad appointment could even threaten the existence of the club (could we service our debts on League 1 income? I don't know).
Two managers in a row have lost the dressing room. If we appoint someone who's never been a manager, you just don't know if they're capable of managing 20 prima donnas.
On the other hand - they might turn out to be way better than any experienced manager we could hope to attract.
I don't know. But I do know that I don't agree with anyone who thinks the choice is easy.
