Suddenly the cupboard is looking rather bare, isn't it?
Alan Smif - No brains, no discipline, and has done little to set the world alight this year.
Micheal Owen - Cows everywhere will be heaving sighs of relief as Britain's banjo makers join the dole queues.
Jermaine Defoe - Probably the pick of the bunch, but very individualistic.
Andy "U-571" Johnson - Dive, Dive, Dive! Doesn't play well with teammates. Goes down faster than a Whitehouse Intern, so maybe the States will suit him.
And as for Crouch, there's not much else to choose from. He's big, he's got great feet as we all saw last year, he's scoring goals in a s**t team. Well done Crouchy, enjoy it. As long as Ericcson doesn't give him 10 minutes at left midfield and then claim he's had his chance.
Deano is almost certainly a better player, especially aerially, BUT:
He's only 20.
He's had less than 1/2 a season in the top flight.
Give him time to spread his wings. If he's still banging them in this time next year, then he'll be right up there.
