Worthy Sit-u-a-tion Not As Bad As It Sounded

I think the Board were only looking to talk to him about a deal to help out a young manager (ex-player) until the end of the season whilst Worthy still works for NI.

He helped keep Leicester up against the odds a couple of years ago and he's local.

Another reason for a stop-gap is that most good managers wouldn't want to join the club in the current league position and would rather join at the end of the season. Hence Worthy helping out until then.
