i remember three things about my first game

1. the fear when my mate had his scarf pulled off his neck by a geordie only to admire my old man "persuading" him to return it to the kid.

2. Malcolm MacDonalds goal (it was probably s**t) but he was a national hero it seemed and I saw it.

3. The utter buzz of being part of it.
