"Pish" or not, its how you feel.
And thats precisely it.
The club used to matter, it played a part in your everyday life.
The day that Kevin Reeves was sold, me and a mate wasted a O Level Computer Studies lecture @ Kings Lynn TEch, just sitting there saying "Reeves is signing soon" and "expect Reeves has gone now".
We related to players, the club, was it "family", maybe an easy cliche, but it did feel that way-examples already cited and there are loads more. 1985, when we won the League Cup, all packed behind that goal at Wembley, it was like being altogether in the worlds biggest living room-me, a mate, and tens of thousands of other good friends.
Last night, saw Ambrose had scored after about 5 mins, I just sat there and laughed.
Didn't care.
I don't like that.
