How much space do you have?

Windows reserves a section of the HDD as a "paging file" where it can write things temporarily as extra memory, so in theory I guess you can use the full capacity of the disk. However it will be very slow.

Given the price of HDDs these days, why not just invest in a new one? ?40 for an 80GB drive should keep you going for a while.
