As a comparison, maybe valid or not

I travelled up from London to Carrow Road to hear Radio 5 Live's "Any Sporting Questions", being recorded, it was around July/Aug 2005. Malky was on the panel as was Mick Mills & the program was chaired by John Inverdale.

On of the topics of the day was Sven as he had been putting it around a bit with whoever was his fancy at the time - might have been Ulrika, but I've not GILYF'd it.

John Inverdale asked for a hands up vote as to whether Sven should go or not, as a result of his dalliances.

Of the 200+ present there was around a 75% "Yes" vote. Whether this had been swayed by England's recent results is another question though.
