If that is all true (and to be honest it sounds plausible) then

It would all be profoundly depressing. Our 2 most creative players linked with moves away (and you get the impression they would leave if given the option) whilst a player we would love to sign but can't afford linked with our biggest rivals who can afford him!

This is a club in one hell of a mess!
