Well...

He complains that the board have made 3 managerial blunders recently, then suggests that the solution is for them to give themselves an opportunity to make another one. Still it'd give him an opportunity to moan about the new man this time next year and it'd carry on being a distraction from the real problem so no doubt they'll go for it.
