Where in my post did I express the expectation, or even a mere hope, that we'll ever win the FA Cup? But you think deep embarrassment over a record of 5 Cup tie wins in 13 seasons (two against non-league sides, one against a side a division below us) constitutes over-expectation? No. It constitutes bloody minimal demands for a Championship club.
The rest of your post makes it sound as though we're punching above our weight just to be in the Championship at all, which is plainly absurd. And I'll bet there are hardly any other clubs at our level with a record of one Cup tie success over a higher ranked club (on penalties, against the PL's bottom side) since 1995.
How on earth does expecting us to give our all in the competition and go as far as the draw realistically permits represent some gloryhunter with his head in the sand of the Olympic Stadium?
