Worthington's immediate response to the Prem season was what f**ked us.

His signings in summer 2005, as he responded to his failure to get the best out of players like Helveg and Booentley by signing apparently down-to-earth players who knew what the division was about, were disastrous.

By the time Worthington regained the plot - signing Croft and Dublin - it was too late - he'd completely destroyed the midfield.
