Well his signings were shocking

in large part because he was shopping in the bargain bucket. And, frankly, if we'd still had Dickson and Ernie I doubt we'd have been bottom.
I can't fathom the notion that spending on things other than football, and a board that makes no attempt to scrutinise what goes on somehow has no effect on our position.
