the most fundamental reason that he failed was that his two key players were sold firstly as a result of clauses in their contracts negotiated by someone who still sits on the board, and secondly because of the club's parlous financial position which has come about because of the flawed strategies set by the board and the failure of the non-executive directors to fulfil their roles properly.
