I'm not saying it's a bad deal. ?500k would be a great deal

But IF he is available at ?300k then why start off at ?500k? The only thing that does is allow Reading to say "no, we want 600k" - I don't buy that it sends signals to other teams. If 500k is such a good deal, other clubs like Wolves will easily cough up that money. 200k won't scare them off.
