Certainly loads better than any iPod/iPhone I've heard.
However, that said, you have to use really really arse-chewingly s**t software to transfer music onto them (no alternatives as far as I'm aware) and the interface is quite s**tty and primitive looking. Nowhere near as good as an iPod.
Plus, despite really good sound quality, the ear-phone volume is really quiet (even when you disable the stupid volume-limiter software configuration). No such problems when you switch the output to "line-out" rather than earphones, but then you need to plug it into something with it's own amp.
Get an iPhone. Really.
