it's a mixed picture. Of the loans that we've actually seen enough of this year to judge (so no Archie Henbane-Jones or Koroma), Bertrand, Lupoli* and Sibierski have failed, and Roeder has to carry the can. Of the contracted players, the weakest are pre-Roeder signings - Fotheringham, Otsemobor, Cureton and (too often) Russell. All Roeder's permies seem to be working out, even Pattison. GR deserves to be cut some slack by the supporters, and given more resources by the Board. His public persona may grate on people, but he's the best manager we've had for a while.
*Lupoli - sorry, but he's not good - can't retain possession, has no great pace and no great skill. I would have played Russell ahead of him today, and there was nothing about today's game to suggest that was a wrong decision.
