Depends whether you have Sky TV. If not then you could get a DVD recorder with a hard drive and Freeview all built-in.

Or prehaps get Freesat (which is very new) where you have a sat dish, can get high def TV and record on the built-in hard drive. Best option if you have, or plan to have a high def TV and don't have/want Sky.
