Before I get slated, im not really a Roeder outer, in fact im not sure where I stand at the minute! I think we have to stick with him.
However, a few things do trouble me and it seems to have become apparent to me (my opinion only of course) that Roeder is not really cut out for management but is perfect for the dreaded "Director of football" or even head of recruitment.
He is clearly well thought of within the game, and can attract a lot of good players to th club, something previous managers have struggled with, I believe Arsenal were apparently interested in him doing a similair role befoere he joined us, he seems perfectly suited to this and/or combined with academy work.
The probelms seem to appear when he takes charge of the day to day running of the team, His man management skills leave a lot to be desired and he has trouble dealing with star players and egos. His constant changing of the syetam and the starting line up has not helped his cause, neither has the playing players out of position and the inability to change a game by using a substituite.
Have we missed a trick by letting Clark go? Would he have made a better manager with Roeder out there using his contacts to get us the players in?
