It was six years ago. Got it done at Boots, although they have stopped doing this now. It wasn?t cheap at all, but worth every penny. I was 38 when I had the op, and I reckoned that it would give me 15 years without glasses, based on the average age when long-sightedness kicks in.
Took around 1 minute per eye, and to be honest it was very unpleasant, eye-lids taped back, smell of burnish flesh (my own!), but the staff were very pleasant, and were good at making me feel at ease.
According to them no-one has ever gone blind by having the operation. The main issues were always not following the aftercare correctly. I needed two sets of drops for a week, them some tear-drop type fluid for a couple of months.
My eyes were 3.00 and 3.75 minus, now I am 20/20 in one and 0.25 in the other.
