Did we find our best side by accident?

This year we have tried the 4-4-2 with sibi and 1 other which was OK as long as the 1 other was Lita.
We tried Rusty as big man up front, that didnt work so well.
Especially if Hoolahan was forced into midfield defensive duties.

Through injuries we went with the 4-4-1-1 and it forced us to play the ball more.

I think its brought out the quality of Clingan and Pattison.

With 1 striker, Pattison knows he must work harder to support the attack.
Clingan is quality, does the little things right every time.
Brings the wide men into the game nicely.
Would not surprise me to see him or Marshall getting offers in the transfer window.

Even before his little scoring run Pattison was really unlucky with chances often being well saved or hitting the woodwork.

So was todays team almost our best side?
