Geek Salad question #9 - Hard Drive partitioning

Right,

I am now thinking I cannot be bothered with the hassle of installing XP, drivers etc myself - i'm going to pay the ?35 to get it done.

Hard Drive Partitioning though - I am getting a 500GB drive, and I think I have worked out I should partition 40GB for the OS... (Partition 1?) but then I get a bit stuck...

'Image files'? Sounds like a good idea... is it? Do I need a partition for that (Partition 2?)?

Other program files? Do they go in the OS partition (Partition 1) or in another one (Partition 3?)?

Media - partition 4?
