Delia and MWJ aren't bad people, and I think they have the best interests of the club at heart. It's just that football has changed so much since they bought the club in 1996 - I see little difference between Jack Walker's Blackburn and Dave Whelan's Wigan, for example, but in 1995 Walker was able to buy the League, whereas ten years later, Whelan's fortune has secured a thrashing in a League Cup final and a team struggling against the drop.

That said, there's no reason why we shouldn't be doing as well as (say) Burnley or Plymouth, with the right management.
