will it take for even those who keep faith with the manager at present to change their minds?
Defeat by Ipswich will be painful but given the state of Doncaster, Forest and Charlton might still not put us in the bottom three. But what if we continue to lose as regularly as we are and one or two of those teams improve? This is a realistic scenario.
January comes and we have no money plus we lose loan players. General concensus is that the Board is as much to blame (if not more) as the last two managers.
We are very likely to be spiralling towards League 1.
So..what do we do? Leave Roeder in charge and hope that a buyer comes along and start afresh in 09/10 or get rid of him and bring in some battler who can work with freebies, lower league signings and kids?
My point is that if we are going to get someone in we need to do it NOW rather than in Jan or Feb. Things are nearly as bad as a year ago. OK we keep hearing that 'the squad is lots better than the one I inherited' but we all know that we have to look at the points we have accumulated, really.
My biggest fear, and I know it's easy to say these things, is that Roeder seems to think he is above criticism. Calderwood said he thought he'd go if Forest lost today but Roeder never seems to acknowledge that he's doing a very bad job. Thus the situation is a strange one. We are producing dismal results (frankly, relegation form) but there seems to be a state of inertia at the club
If people call for Roeder to go they are called alarmist but he continues to show little evidence of any management capability. In my opinion we would be better off with a lower league 'scrapper'.
