is this because i'm subconsciously supremely confident or resigned to defeat? i've no idea.

one idea - can't we hire derren brown for a pre-match pep talk to the players? if he can persuade a bloke he's fighting zombies surely he can persuade our players they're as good as the Brazil 1970 team. Mind you, the sight of Flem doing stepovers in his own box might make for nervous viewing...
