It was a good reason to sign him, because no matter what he did

It would be interpreted in support

If he doesn't touch the ball in a match or plays awful, it's interpreted into the confidence kicked out of him, or the manager doesn't like him

If it was a player we didn't like, it's all "he's s**t, I hate him, he's the worst player we've ever had", and then the knife twisting "it's the managers fault"
