All we need for an excellent squad which would stand every chance , good fortune permitting , of winning the Championship is a quality centre half to play alongside Shackell and a playmaker in midfield to play alonside Saffri with Hughes and Jarrett as squad players.
It is truly galling to read the rave reviews that Koumas got on his debut for Cardiff. It is equally galling to think that we spent ?500,000 on a journeyman midfield player when Koumas was available on loan for a year with nothing other than his salary to cover. It is crap to say that Koumas was a loose cannon. His record with Westy Brom apart frm the final year spoke for itself. Cardiff now have the best playmaking midfield goalscorer in the Championship.
It remains patently obvious that Flem and Doc are not up to it.
Come on Worthie and the Board. Just two more players needed to turn the squad frm promotin hopers to Championship winners. The right players will of course cost money but this is only turning one form of asset - cash into anther asset - a player with value in the transfer market and if they are the difference between the pennies availabe in the Championship and the pounds available in the Premier League then the investment is unarguably worth the small/medium risk ( to investment jargon) involved.
