Carrick had one of those games, I thought, where people who don't understand the game

would come away thinking "Carrick didn't do much, he must be s**t".

He didn't do anything spectacular to get noticed, but the number of interceptions he made was incredible - I noticed that when he plays for Mancs Utd too - not a great tackler, but got the nous to read the opposition and be in the right place to intercept a pass.

And his passing was good too.
