Best thing I did was start using a noticeboard for money

I've been better organised. If money sits in my bank I won't withdraw it, or I won't account for ?50-?100 being withdrawn on a day out.

I'll stupidly say to myself "too much, I'd rather keep/save the money"

So I stuck a noticeboard up, and pinned labels to the wall with "gig and date" for example. If it's months away, Say I set out ?30...., each week, if there's a tenner or so left over in my going out budget, I pin it to the wall, and don't take it off

Do that for loads of stuff now, things I want in future, like a laptop, bike, new phone instead of contract

If summit bad happens, and I need money (phone nicked, bike stolen), that's the only time I take things off the wall

Weird having 8-10 future events on it, each with about ?30 pinned to it, and needing ?80, I just take a tenner off each, and start adding to it again. Doesn't feel like the hardship has happened

Best thing about it is, when it comes to the day of going to it, it all feels like it's paid for, so no need to go to the bank (ie last thurs, ryan ticket paid for ?30, and ?30 was pinned to it. If I had to withdraw ?60 on the night. I doubt I'd have gone)

Are you asleep yet?
