... treating the ball like a hot potato, Jarrett played well.

Hughes proactively looked for the ball, whereas JJ was content to have it when someone else wanted to pass it to him.

I can't remember any instance in which Jarrett affected the game in a positive or negative way.

He may aswell have not been there.

I hope this was due to his (lack of) fitness, and I'm sure he is better than he showed last night.

P.S. I don't think Hughes is God, but you can't deny that he got involved and had a positive influence on the game (more often than not).

It's funny how people remember the negatives (was tackled cheaply on the half-way line twice) and forget that he made some good interceptions and was economical with the ball for the most part.
