I think that sort of sports science and "classroom" learning is more respected in the US and in games like US football. The approach has probably got a lot to do with it, as far as Roeder doing it is concerned, I can just see him belittling, patronising and generally coming across as an unlovable Mr Chips to the players, rather than a "Coach Roeder" they can respect and will listen to.
