i've read the transcripts that were posted on here earlier and it's quite obvious that none of this was meant by Brand at all

Ross made him do it and Brand was just phoning up each subsequent time with a wish to genuinely apologise, but would then accidentally start singing a rude ditty about the whole granddaughter shagging stuff

and it was all down to the BBC for broadcasting it as once it had been recorded Brand has absolutely no editorial say in the content of his own show
