Spiders occur in a large range of sizes. The smallest, dwarf spiders of the subfamily Erig

oninae, are less than 1 mm (about .05 inches) in body length. The largest and heaviest spiders occur among tarantulas, which can have body lengths up to 90 mm (about 3.5 inches) and leg spans up to 250 mm (about 10 inches).
