...yes, we get decent amounts of possession, but it's in our own defence / middle third - ANY team can do (or should be able to do) that.
Once we cross the half-way line it's usually only a couple of passes away from turning over the ball to the opposition.
Give a world-class striker a couple of chances and he'll score one, so you don't need the midfield to supply many balls up to him. Seem to remember reading somewhere that Andy Cole's time at United saw him convert one in five chances.
Our strikers are nowhere near his level at the moment, so let's say they need eight or ten chances to convert. We're lucky to create that in a month of fixtures let alone one match!
We'd be better off putting all of our money into a couple of decent midfielders and players that can play the ball up to our front men. It's pointless having players that can score goals at this level (Cureton and Lupoli for example) if you don't create chances for them.
