It's simple really. Worthington was criticised for releasing Malky, and rightly so - because it didn't work. Roeder's being criticised for releasing Hux, and rightly so - because it hasn't and doesn't look like working. Any club needs leaders and players the fans can look up to and identify with: Iwan, Flem, Malky, Greeno and Hux in recent years. Who is there now? At a push, Crofty maybe?
But... but... whenever we sack a manager, whoever we appoint has to start all over again. First full season: mid-table; second one: play-offs or at least top 8; third one: promotion. We're only a couple of months into Roeder's first full campaign, and it'd be absolutely ridiculous to get rid of him at this stage. Especially given what may or may not be going on behind the scenes: who could we appoint given the possibility of our ownership changing soon? A poor man's Joe Kinnear?
I think close to all of us know where the problem lies: it's the board. Not Roeder.
