how are we going to tempt a qulaity midfielder to come to the club with no guarantee of a regular place? Any player with the kind of quality we want will want to be playing regually to give himself the best chance of being picked up by a prem club. Also can we afford the wages of another high quality midfielder? Jarret and Safri will be first choice. Hughes showed on sat he can do a job quite well for when safri is away or we have an injury. I know it?s a bit of a risk but I cant's see us having many games when neither Safri or jarrett are available. I also can't see us attracting or affording another quality player just to sit on the bench for 80% of the season. I know we like to think we are a big club, but we can't attract players in to be part of the 'squad' like Chelsea can, as their careers and probably wage packets would do better in the first team elsewhere.
