We knew *what*, anyway?

Either they've exposed something which people didn't know about - in which case I say fair play - or they repeated something we all knew about it anyway, in which case who cares?

There are no particular repercussions of this being in the public eye, as far as I can see. And therefore no obvious argument why the investigation should be done in secret.
