it'd be easier for Carroll to allow Lita to carry on and score than it would be for him to foul him and hope that we scored form the penalty, particularly as Carroll would surely know that there's a good chance he would be sent off for the foul and therefore not be able to influence the outcome of the kick (or the rest of the game for anyone who believes that he was trying to throw the match)

unless Carroll really is that thick
