As I understand it the bets were placed at half time

when there was the sort of swing in the betting that you would expect to see if a major on pitch event occuered (such as keeper sent off and/or gave away a penalty) only that had not happened at that point in time. 5 minutes into the 2nd half it did.

There is a thread on the betfair forums about it which talks about how the odds for the match changed at half time due to the money being laid down. Means nothing to me as i do not really understand these things but the experts on there seem to agree there was a significant shift.
