while you're all here, i wonder if you could clear something up for me

imaine you go to wxathc a match at a friend's house. you take six bottles of premium beer with you, and he puts them in the fridge. He has some cheap cans already chilled, so you end up only drinking one of the bottles you brought.

would you expect him to give you the beers back when you leave? or is it taken as read that the beers are your 'payment' for his hospitality? or maybe he should keep them for the next time you go round to watch a match, or bring them with him when he comes round to yours....
