Yeah, lets not give them a game for over 2 weeks instead.

Could he, possibly, have taken them aside and said
"as we've got the 2 week break lads I'm gonna give you a run out in the ressies tonight, get some minutes under your belts, keep the fitness topped up. Nothing to worry about"

Oh and if they get that touchy about being dropped then, er good I suppose. Depends how they react though.
