The flats that were going to help us build the South Stand but didn't because we massively underestimated the infrastructure costs etc so we had to borrow all the money instead of none of it. And the small car park and undeveloped land which represents the Phase 2 development and on which we have to repay ?2.5 million in a couple of month's time. And the hotel which was supposed to pay off the costs of building the infill but so we still owe on that. The very same hotel that contributed losses of ?201,000 to the profit and loss account last year. And over on the bench there was Lee Clarke who we should have signed to save us from relegation in 1995 but didn't because we spent the money on a flower mill instead.
And I explained to him how since 1994 Norwich City had been more concerned with the buying, selling and developing of land, and how that period had coincided with 14 years of more or less unremitting failure on the football pitch.
And then I explained to him that complete responsibilty for this situation lay with Glenn Roeder. Strangely though, he found that difficult to accept.
